I am 82 years old. My background has always been involved in what now is called 'systems' analyses'. I am interested in comprehensive and coherent theories that impact upon happiness and sadness causes in human affairs. I know a lot about weapons and war and philosophy and theology and seek understanding and a view of TRUTH.
I love your political stance, Independent (with Liberal Conservative leanings) I classify myself as a liberal conservative--sometimes more liberal and sometimes more conservative and most of the time, a 'middle of the roader'/
Thanks for your thoughts and concern, Dick. I do treasure you! I think I'm doing pretty well---I'm finally sleeping without Tylenol PM!! That must mean something. One of these days I'm hoping to be able to get creative again. In the meantime, I'm recording one of my books for the publisher -- it's a meditation titled CIRCLE OF MYSTERIES. So, you might say that I'm even getting back to work.
Thank you for your heartfelt message about John's death. As you say, life and person-itself is changed by these kinds of events/experiences. J. Dominic Crossan says in his memoir that his wife's death taught him that only half the grieving was for his loss of her. He also needed to grief the loss of the "self" he was with her. You also seemed to intimate that in your thoughts about reforming your life following your wife's death so many years ago.
Beryl says she's hoping I will return to Gather. It certainly has changed in format since I was last here. Probably you will begin seeing little articles from me from time to time. Maybe I'll begin by exploring some of Beryl's and your writing during the past year.
